About Sarcoma

At Southern California Multi-Specialty Center, we're dedicated to offering the Los Angeles community advanced care and a wealth of information about sarcoma.

According to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, sarcomas are a rare group of cancers, accounting for about 1% of adult cancers, but nearly 20% of all childhood cancers. They arise from connective tissues like bone, muscle, fat, and cartilage.

Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that forms in the bones and the soft (connective) tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and blood vessels. Although sarcomas are uncommon, they can affect individuals of any age.

Recognizing the early signs and understanding your treatment options are crucial to managing the condition effectively. At SCMSC, our specialized team combines cutting-edge technology with a compassionate approach to provide the best possible care for sarcoma patients in the Los Angeles area.

Approximately 13,130 new cases of soft tissue sarcoma (not including bone sarcomas) were expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2020.
