Limb salvage center

At our office, limb preservation is of utmost importance when it comes to the care of our patients. Some of our patients – particularly those with diabetes – may be at risk for foot or leg amputation. Before amputating a foot or lower leg, we take every measure possible to salvage the limb and preserve its health. Our goal is to use advanced treatments and state of the art surgical techniques to provide premium care for the conditions most often responsible for amputation.

Did you know…

…that limb salvage and preservation techniques can have a significant influence on a patient’s long-term quality of life? People who cannot walk because of an amputation may be more likely to suffer from depression, not to mention require long-term care or assisted living. Limb preservation may also help prevent hospital re-admissions as a result of amputation-related complications.

How can I reduce my risk of needing an amputation?

The conditions that most commonly raise the risk of amputation are often asymptomatic or otherwise minimally perceptible to patients who may have lost sensation in their feet and legs. That is why everyone with a predisposition to potential foot health complications should undergo regular podiatry check-ups and seek medical attention right away at the first sign of an abnormality.
