David Wang, MD

Dr. David Wang is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery from USC/Keck School of Medicine. He is proud to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care for a wide range of surgical pathologies. With expertise in both general surgery and colorectal surgery, Dr. Wang offers a full spectrum of operative and non-operative treatments, utilizing minimally invasive techniques when possible to ensure optimal outcomes for his patients.

As a colon and rectal surgery specialist, Dr. Wang has extensive experience managing complex conditions such as colon cancer, rectal cancer, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, fistulas, and other anorectal disorders. His expertise in colonoscopy also allows him to diagnose and treat a range of gastrointestinal conditions. Additionally, his experience across the entire spectrum of general surgery enables him to offer longitudinal and comprehensive care for patients with a variety of conditions.

Dr. Wang studied biomedical engineering and biology at Tufts University while spending one year abroad at Oxford University. He graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. He worked in consulting for two years before earning his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at Northwell Health in New York, the largest and one of the most reputable healthcare systems in the state. Following completion of residency, he continued to pursue specialty training in colorectal surgery at USC/Keck and LA General Medical Center, where he gained invaluable experience treating high complexity patients while also delivering care to underserved populations.

To continue his education, Dr. Wang is active in multiple national societies including the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He has also published extensively in the fields of general surgery and global health and has presented his research at national meetings. He has also spent time performing research abroad, expanding his knowledge and perspectives to better serve his communities.
