Maria Teresa Sanchez, ACNP-BC

Maria Teresa Sanchez’s passion for nursing and her desire to help underserved communities is what drove her to pursue her lifetime goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. At SCMSC we are fortunate to have her, being a bilingual medical professional, she can offer specialty services to the larger Hispanic community in the San Fernando Valley. 

Teresa is a board-certified, acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP-BC), she obtained her undergraduate degree from Chamberlain University of Nursing in 2012 where she received Presidential Honors upon completion. In 2020, she received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from UCLA and finished top of her class, graduating Sigma Theta Tau. 

Her current areas of expertise include Vascular Surgery and General Surgery with a focus on hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, where she provides specialized care for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  With over 12 years of experience, she also has experience in oncology, Direct Observation Unit, Med-Surgery, Telemetry, mental health, and long-term care.

Teresa is beloved among our patients, she is known for her caring bedside manner. Patients admire her for her extensive disease state knowledge and professionalism. 

When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with friends and family at the beach or hiking around Los Angeles. She loves trying new brunch spots. In her downtime, she enjoys reading books or rewatching her all-time favorite show, Friends.
